Winter is here in full force and the past few days have been extremely cold. I'd like to please ask everyone to make sure to check that all of your windows are fully closed before leaving at the end of the day. We had a flood in the building today as a result of an open window that froze a water pipe and caused significant damage. We are aware that some of the windows are difficult to close so please contact Justin Heavenor your Building Manager at C:
The exterior doors of Beach Hall will be locked on the observed State Holidays of December 24th and December 31st. Please contact your Building Manager Justin Heavenor if there is a need to have access added and/or if you are unsure of your current card status.

It has been brought to our attention this morning that the exterior doors of Beach Hall were rekeyed last Thursday. We were not made aware of this date ahead of time so we apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused over the weekend.

Following further guidance from the Governor and University to further reduce the presence of staff on campus, CLAS Facility Services will suspend this week's on-campus coverage schedule that I emailed last week. I know that this may cause some frustration and confusion, but we hope you understand that the current circumstances have led us to make this difficult decision. Managers will be working from home until further notice, please continue to email or phone them with any questions or concerns. Facilities Operations will be monitoring buildings systems.
Beginning Monday, March 23rd, CLAS Facility Services will be functioning with one on-campus representative to support continuing activities in CLAS buildings. The managers and I will be maintaining our regularly scheduled hours (8am-4pm) from home on the other days (Monday through Friday). If you need general assistance feel free to contact your designated building manager, but for a quicker response to on-campus needs, please reference the schedule below:
We hope that you have had an enjoyable summer and are getting excited for the start of a new semester. As you are preparing for new academic and research activities, we want to make you aware of a recent change to the process for providing access to your spaces.

In the event that you did not receive the email below, faculty and staff ID cards are ready to be picked up at the One Card Office (2nd floor of Wilbur Cross) until August 21st. See the email below for details on picking up your card after that date.
As you may have heard, the University will begin issuing new ID cards to all faculty, staff, and students on July, 15th. These new cards are part of a larger initiative to update the campus-wide security infrastructure. Several departments within and outside of The College are working behind the scenes to minimize any possible access disruptions to this transition, however, it is very important that you not discard your current ID until you have confirmed that your new ID works on all the electronic locks you currently have access to.
This is a final reminder about the campus-wide power outage planned for tomorrow morning beginning at 4am. Power is scheduled to return sometime between 6:00am and 6:30am. Please take all necessary precautions to protect your data and research by powering down your equipment where possible.

The forecast for the early part of this week is calling for below average temperatures, if you have any concerns about your research activities please contact your building manager.
Good morning Beach Hall Faculty, Researchers, and Staff.
You are receiving this email because you have been identified by your department as having an assigned space in Beach Hall. The purpose of this listserv is to directly communicate Beach specific issues to the occupants based in that building. Moving forward, CLAS Facility Services will only use this listserv to relay utility shutdown notices for Beach, we will no longer use the BCS-Listserv.
In addition to the planned outage on 8/7, there will also be an electrical shutdown on Saturday, August 3rd from 1pm to 5pm. This will effect normal and back-up power as both need to be off for the meter installation. Please let Cheryl or I know if you have any concerns about this additional shutdown.
