This is a reminder to register for the upcoming ECE Kinesiology Workshop, scheduled for 9:00 AM on Wednesday, January 28th. This will be the only KINS workshop during the 2025-26 school year, and you are required to attend at least one professional development experience every other year to maintain up-to-date ECE certification.

Hope all is well. Since we were just certified for KINS 1100 in May 2025, we won't have to go until the 2027 version of this workshop.... Is this correct since it will be every other year to maintain ECE certification?

Apologies for my delay in response, I was out of office at the time of your initial message. Since you were just certified in May 2025, and attended New Instructor Orientation, you are not required to attend this workshop if it is not compatible with your schedule. So long as you attend at least one ECE professional development workshop every other school year, you will remain up-to-date with your certification requirement.

Hi Billy and all, Newly certified instructors for 2025-2026 are not required to attend this workshop. As a newly certified instructor attendance at Orientation on May 19th is the event you'll want to be sure to attend this year.
Hi. I registered for this but will not be attending since I am a new instructor and will be at the ECE workshop in May I decided to wait on this one. Do I need to do anything to cancel my registration? Jenn

Hi Matthew (and any other newly certified KINS instructors for 2025-2026).
Please know attendance at this workshop is optional. The event to be sure to attend as a newly certified instructor for 2025-2026 is New Instructor Orientation in May. Once your certification is finalized after attending Orientation you will then be required to participate in one UConn ECE Kinesiology workshop once every other year to maintain certification with UConn Early College Experience.
